Case Study on Mango Teleservices Ltd & Playpen School.

At Defined Solution, one of the things we do is give a business a modern web presence: a website and a brand identity that make it look as capable online as it is in person. To show what that means in practice, we built a new website and a brand guideline for two organisations in Dhaka.

Case 01 · Telecom · Dhaka

Mango Teleservices Ltd

How we approached it

We had very little information from the company itself, so we started with research. We studied Mango's public footprint and how comparable internet gateway operators present themselves, then wrote the content from that. The goal was a website that explains clearly what Mango does and who it serves.

Our rebuilt Mango homepage: a dark page with the headline 'The backbone behind Bangladesh's digital life' and a glowing globe.
The current mango.com.bd homepage: a yellow header over an electric-car charging photo titled 'Automoblie Industrial Park'.

Brand guideline

Built around one idea: the backbone.

Mango's yellow comes straight from its existing logo, but it's now used sparingly, as a signal rather than a background. Calm neutrals and precise type do the rest, so the brand looks like dependable infrastructure.

  • Colour 7 values in a 60/30/10 split; yellow never covers more than 10% of a screen
  • TypeSora, DM Sans and JetBrains Mono, plus Hind Siliguri for Bangla
  • LogoClear space, minimum sizes and misuse rules
  • VoicePrecise, calm, clear, warm and Bangladeshi
  • AccessEvery text and background pair checked against WCAG 2.1
Mango Teleservices brand board: the colour system, four typefaces, logo lockups, tone of voice and core components.

The new site is live as a preview. It will be ready to replace the current one once Mango confirms the facts we flagged.

Case 02 · Education · Bashundhara

Playpen School

How we approached it

Playpen's website already had the right content. It was just hard to find. We kept the school's own words and photographs, reorganised them into a clear structure and gave the design a modern feel. Then we wrote the brand rules the school's crest had never had.

Our rebuilt Playpen homepage: a crimson-toned student photo with the headline 'A balanced education, from first steps to A Level'.
The current playpen.edu.bd homepage: the crest, a '49 years' badge, a red menu bar and exam-result pie charts.

Brand guideline

The crest stays. Everything else is built around it.

We didn't redraw the school's shield. We took crimson and gold straight from it, set them on warm parchment, and added a simplified shield mark that stays readable even at icon size.

  • Colour 7 values; Bronze was added because the crest's gold is too faint to read on light backgrounds
  • TypeFraunces for headings, Plus Jakarta Sans for text, both free to use
  • Logo7 files: heritage crest, shield mark, wordmark, lockups and single colour
  • VoiceWarm, specific, plain and settled: confident, not boastful
  • Scope11 sections, including photography and applications
Playpen School brand board: positioning masthead, logo system with seven lockups, colour system and the Fraunces and Plus Jakarta Sans typefaces.

The new site is live as a preview. Every old web address redirects to its new page, so existing bookmarks and Google results still work.

How we work

Four steps, and the last one doesn't end.

  1. 01

    Listen

Before we design anything, we sit down with you and understand the problem in your own words.

  2. 02

    Think

Once the problem is clear, we work out the best answer to it and show you the plan before we build.

  3. 03

    Build

We start with a working first version and complete the project step by step. You work with us as a project partner the whole way through.

  4. 04 · Ongoing

    Deliver and maintain

Every system needs care to keep performing well. After launch, we stay with you and give support whenever you need it.

A note from us

Made on our own initiative, to show you how we work.

We put this report together on our own time, as a working demonstration of our process: from research and brand thinking to a website you can open today. We hope it gives you a clear picture of what Defined Solution can do, and we'd welcome the chance to talk.

Thank you for reading.
